Practicing Physican Education in Depression
Major depression is a common office disorder, with a prevalence of 2% in community dwelling older persons. It is strikingly more common in the ill and disabled, affecting over 20% of hospitalized and 15% of institutionalized older persons. The seven educational tools included in the Depression Toolkit can teach patients and caregivers about depression, and the nine professional tools provide physicians with valuable information about diagnosis and treatment.
