Fall Prevention: National Action Plan- Leading the Way

As the final speaker in the injury tract at the 2006 International Conference on Aging, Disability and Independence (ICADI), Lynn Beattie, PT, MHA was able to review some of the previous presentations and enfold some of the ongoing activities described by earlier speakers into her discussion of the Falls Free Coalition and the many national, state, and community collaborative initiatives working to address this growing public health problem. She emphasized the growing problem of falls and elderly, and promoted a call to action in local communities where we can best affect meaningful change.
